Mixes with sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, and flax seeds are the extra healthy trail mixes.

Peanuts is one of the less healthy nuts that is included in regular trail mixes. The fat ratio of omega 6 to omega 3 is less than ideal in peanuts which are also high incalories and are heavily sprayed, if they are not farmed organically. Organic peanuts, however, are fine. If you really want a healthy snack, choose a trail mix that includes almonds, walnuts, cashews or pecans which are the healthiest nuts to take.

Bring your trail mix every time you go to work, to school, or when travelling around. If you don’t want to get tempted with eating junk good in between meals, it is handy to have a nutritious snack around that you can munch on.
